The Waste Management Phoenix Open holds a special place in my heart. I have made such incredible memories at this tournament and always look forward to watching the best play in my backyard!
My golf story essentially started with my dad getting tickets to go to the Phoenix Open. As we're walking through the expo, we stop by a tent called The First Tee of Phoenix. From that day forward I became a member, and since then, I've been hooked on the game. Being in the program has taught me valuable life lessons, and played a part in the career field I'm currently pursuing.
Growing up through the program, I got to experience some of my best memories at The Phoenix Open. I've had the opportunity to caddie for the Pros on the infamous hole 16. I have also had the opportunity to play the course numerous times, which I am beyond grateful for. My best moments at The Phoenix Open would be when I was a Media Reporter for The First Tee.
I was allotted a Media access pass and was bestowed behind the rope access! You know you made it when they give you a confidential parking pass lol. I was able to introduce myself and interview the Pros before and after their golf rounds. I've been able to meet some incredible people!
Names from Phil Mickelson, Rickie Fowler, Bubba Watson, and a personal favorite of mine, Cameron Champ.
A memory I am fond of was meeting my favorite golfer Ben Crane. I was watching his practice round and at the end talked about how he was my favorite golfer. I am not lying when I tell you I was the biggest fan of the Golf Boys, lol. This amazing Man of God took his hat off of his head and signed it for me to have and wrote the Bible verse Ephesians 3:20-21.
I believe that God has a plan for everyone. It is truly beautiful when you can recognize what things He can do when you truly devote yourself to Him.
An incredible blessing came my way in the form of not only being a PVAMU Women's Golfer but being the recipient of the Mack Champ Scholarship. The Cameron Champ Foundation donated $40,000 to our PVAMU Men and Women's Golf Team and has been tremendous support for our current and future success.
Golf has played an impactful role in my family and my life. Traveling the country with family to play a sport I love is truly extraordinary. It is so special to see how much golf has touched the people around me. I truly believe that God intended me to be on the golf course.
Jeremiah 29:11

I asked Cameron and his Dad if he remembered me interviewing him and he said he did, omg #wemadeit

I had my dad send me a picture of the hat, what an amazing gift!
