Hello everyone, and happy Hump Day!

So far, being a student athlete here at PVAMU has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride. I love my school, my teammates, and my sport however, there is so much left in store for our PVAMU Golf program.

As most people say, the game of golf closely relates to the cycle of life. With life, you never know what God has in store for you, which can be unsettling for many. I have been very honest about the struggles our golf program has faced, and thankfully we now have an incoming coach ready to help our team achieve success.

In the meantime, it is up to us and our community to build up our golf program and trust that God has victory in store for all!

Faith. I’m telling you, when in doubt have faith in God! I know it’s not easy, and that is why I formulated a 3 step plan to building your faith and growing your relationship with God.

  1. Read your Bible people!!!

  2. Pray, Pray, Pray

  3. Establish your “Go-To” person

Starting with point number one and arguably the most “overrated” in the plan is reading your Bible! This step often gets overlooked because it can be viewed as boring or too time consuming. Carve time out of your day to fellowship with the Creator of the Universe, trust me He’s waiting to give you a word. Let God speak to your heart with His word and realign yourself with what He has ordained for you.

Prayer is a MUST if you are seeking to build a relationship with God. Not only can we directly communicate with Him, but through prayer and reading the Word, He can speak back! I don’t know about you, but I’d rather talk to God than any human on this planet. (Oops sorry Mom and Dad lol)

Walking with Christ is a difficult journey, but with the helpof another Christ like person, they can be an aid for you in times of need. Sin is very real and with the world getting darker, The Devil is in full motion to take as many people with him to the pit. Having someone to confide in about your hardships can help ease the pain and restore peace in your life. Knowing that someone has your back and will hold you accountable for your actions will only make you better.

There is no consequence for trying your hardest. What I’ve come to learn on my walk is that if you move an inch towards Him, God will move mountains for you. Be confident in knowing that these three steps will change your life.

In order to embark change in your life, you NEED to be honest with yourself about what things you mind. Ask yourself this:

Are you mindful of the Spirit? Or are you mindful of the Flesh?

Keep these scriptures in your mind for the remainder of the week, and ask the Holy Spirit to check your mind and your heart.

“For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God”.

Romans 8:5-8

Remember that God always has your best interest in mind, trust Him!

As always I love you, but God loves you more (:

Finish the week strong!!!
