God is good all the time, and all the time is He good.

This Wednesday, my teammates, coach, and I made a trip to Memorial Golf Course to play in the Houston Open Pro-Am! Immediately we were welcomed by the outstanding volunteers who directed us upstairs to receive our tournament gifts.

No one could have prepared me for the experience of warming up right beside Scottie Scheffler and Gary Woodland. I am still in awe that we were able to warm up with the best golfers in the world and watch them prepare for a PGA tournament.

The highlight of my experience was introducing myself to Scottie Scheffler and hearing about the importance of his faith. Not only did he win my hometown favorite tournament, The Waste Management Phoenix Open, but he is also the 2022 Masters champion! It is inspiring to see professional golfers and other athletes be outspoken about their faith in Jesus Christ. With his talent and his character, it is no doubt that he is a favorite of mine to watch on tour.

Shortly after, we headed to the practice green where we met the co-founder of a remarkable brand called Trap Golf. After speaking with Wayne, the co-owner, and learning more about his brand, he has definitely gained a new fan and supporter! He also gave my teammates and I a ball marker from his brand, which I shortly got complimented on by our playing partner Mr. Cink!

Right before our tee time, I ran into my incredible bosses at The First Tee! Memorial Park is a site where we host classes for our junior members. I remember the first time I went to Memorial to start my internship and saw the work put in to make this tournament possible. Their efforts did not go unnoticed and the course looked spectacular! Shockingly enough, this was my first time playing at Memorial and it was definitely worth the wait.

Thanks to The PGA Tour and United, my teammates and I were paired with Matthew NeSmith and Stewart Cink. Hearing new perspectives and watching these professionals play up close was everything a golfer could imagine and more! I wish them the best of luck in their final round tomorrow.

I am a firm believer that everything that is meant for you will come to pass. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity was such a blessing to be a part of. I am beyond grateful to those who made this opportunity possible. Thank you to United and The PGA Tour for having our amazing HBCU be a part of this special event.

As the golf world continues to grow and diversify, I hope to see other HBCUs and people of color thrive on the PGA Tour.

As the week is coming to an end, I will leave you with this verse:

"If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

John15:7-10

As always I love you, but Jesus loves you more!
