Every person on this Earth we inhabit has a purpose. Not everyone recognizes what it is, but those that do are exceedingly blessed.
Currently like most college students, I am struggling. Maintaining grades, sports, social life, and emotions can be draining and overwhelming. The world being in such a dark place makes the struggle seem much worse than it might be. Being a light in the darkness is not an easy task, but it is surely possible.
Despite all the negative that permeates our society, it is exceedingly important to let go of the world, and let GOD!
Letting go is one of the most difficult things you can do. This requires strength, determination, and faith in knowing that better is on its way. Toxic habits, friends, relationships, coaches, etc. it does not matter. God will remove what is not for you, and I will tell you that it hurts… a lot. I will also mention that it is most definitely always for your benefit.
Be encouraged in knowing that God sees your heart. He knows your desires, he sees your tears and hears the cries that echo around you. Be encouraged to know that the God of the universe wants nothing more than to heal you if you let him. Understand that you must rely on His timing and not your own. God’s ways are beyond our understanding, which requires patience and faith to fulfill your heart's desires.
Before reading my Bible, I asked God in prayer to speak to my heart and console me through my time of need. Immediately after the prayer, I felt in my spirit to read Philippians, specifically chapter 4. While reading Philippians, my biggest takeaway was that God truly hears me. I also took away the importance of dying to my flesh and living in an obedient fashion. Keeping in mind the scripture
“But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.
Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:…”
Philippians 3:7-9
This week, I think a great scripture to keep on your mind and heart is this…
“Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God”
Philippians 4:6
Keep your chin up, your head held high, and walk in the purpose that God ordained for you.
I love you, but Jesus loves you more!
Have a great week (:
